Presentation Title: Tree-ring research in Eastern African dry forests: insights into hydroclimate variability and forest ecology
His presentation will cover Paleohydroclimate reconstruction using tree-ring and stable carbon isotope chronologies. The reconstruction includes rainfall over the upper Blue Nile basin, as well as the Blue Nile and Tekeze-Atbara Rives, which is the main tributaries of world’s longest river (Nile River). His presentation also includes Dendroecology that deals with the ecological application of tree-ring to estimate forest carbon sequestration and time required to restore degraded landscape.
