Gerne unterstützen wir Sie bei der Suche nach einem geeigneten Praktikumsplatz oder für einen Auslandsaufenthalt. Bitte setzen Sie sich hierzu mit direkt mit uns in Verbindung. Auch hier gilt: am besten Sie haben schon erste Vorkenntnisse in GIS und Fernerkundung aus den entsprechenden Lehrveranstaltungen, da dann beide Seiten von ihrer Arbeit am meisten profitieren.

Abschlussarbeiten & Promotionen
Abschlussarbeiten (Bachelor, Master, Zulassungsarbeiten:
Unsere Arbeitsgruppe bietet die Möglichkeit Abschlussarbeiten im Themenfeld von GIS und Fernerkundung (empirisch) sowie Themen der Physischen Geographie (Zulassungsarbeiten, Literaturarbeiten) durchzuführen. Hierbei arbeiten Sie an aktuelle Fragestellungen, die meist eng an unsere Forschungsvorhaben gekoppelt sind. Daher besteht eine enge Betreuung und Interesse an verwertbaren Ergebnissen der Arbeiten. Abschlussarbeiten mit Bezug zu externen Einrichtungen sind grundsätzlich möglich, bedürfen jedoch weiterer Absprachen.
Sowohl bei den Bachelor- als auch bei den Masterarbeiten haben sie die Möglichkeit, unter Anleitung an konkreten, klar umgrenzten Projekten zu arbeiten und ihre Kenntnisse in der jeweilige Auswertesoftware zu vertiefen. Hierfür stehen Softwarelizenzen für die gängigen GIS- und Bildverarbeitungspackete in den CIP-Räumen des Instituts zur Verfügung und ggf. an spezifischen Arbeitsplätzen der Arbeitsgruppe. Hinzu kommt die Möglichkeit, ArcGIS auf den eigenen Rechnern zu installieren sowie die Nutzung von Open Source Software (z.B. R, QuantumGIS, SAGA). Voraussetzung für eine Abschlussarbeit (Bachelor) sind die Kenntnisse aus GIS-1 und der Einführungsvorlesung GIS und Fernerkundung sowie der Übung Einführung ind die digitale Bildverarbeitung (vertiefte Methodik I). Für Master ist der vorherige Besuch einer der Vertiefungsveranstaltungen wünschenswert, je nach Fragestellung jedoch nicht zwingend notwendig. Es besteht auch in der Fernerkundung die Möglichkeit, Masterarbeiten mit Felderhebungen zu verbinden.
