Kolloq. PG: Growth patterns and mechanisms in arctic-alpine dwarf shrubs. – Mi. 14.12.2022

Physisch-geographisches Kolloquium (PG):
Growth patterns and mechanisms in arctic-alpine dwarf shrubs.

Svenja Angelika Dobbert, Jörg Löffler (Universität Bonn)

Moderation: Prof. Dr. Achim Bräuning

Alpine ecosystems are considered hot-spots of environmental Change with rapidly warming conditions causing massive alterations in vegetational structure. These changes and their environmental controls are highly complex and variable across spatial and temporal scales. Using hourly recordings of shrub stem diameter change provided by dendrometers, paired with measurements of on-site environmental conditions, we shed light on physiological processes and mechanisms at the individual plant scale, underlying these larger scale processes.

Wann: Mittwoch, 14.12.2022 von 12:30 bis 14:00 Uhr
Wo: Hörsaal C, Kochstr. 4 – Eingang Hindenburgstraße, Erlangen.
